IBSAT 2009-10 Analysis
IBSAT belongs to the honorable league of uncertain tests for MBA entrance. It has been unfolding one surprise over the other in the past years. The most recent was the inclusion of an 'Writing" section in Year 2008. On the other hand, IBSAT 2007 offered a format resembling that of GMAT, though on paper. IBSAT 2009 was no different from the last year. Hence, just like IBSAT 2008 in which aspirants did not leave a single question un-attempted, most candidates referred the same approach for IBSAT 2009 as well. Overall, the exam was of moderate level of difficulty. It was characterized by challenging Quant this time and moderate DI, DS and Verbal Ability sections. The saving grace was once again Reading Comprehension section. Even though one must have attempted all the 125 questions as there was no negative marking, a 60+ accurate attempts along with 8+ correct guesses out of the rest would highly likely be a favorite of the Top ICFAI campuses.
Overall Analysis:
• No of Sections: 4
• No of options per Question: 5
• Sectional Cut-offs: Yes
• Expected Cut-off attempt (85%+ accuracy): 60+
• Expected correct Guesses: 8
• Net Expected Cut-offs (assuming 1 Mark per Question): 68+
• Net Expected Cut-offs for at least 1 call (assuming 1 Mark per Question): 60+
